Accu-Pin™

Whether you have the full VF-300™ system, or a satellite scanner  connected electronically to our Laboratory Services, the incorporated Accu-Pin™ true 3-D light scanner makes casting a breeze.

Using the same technique as a foam casting box, a rear-foot neutral cast is obtained with the patient in a seated, semi-weight-bearing position. A fully-weight-bearing cast may be taken with the patient in stance. The pin matrix is then placed into the Accu-Pin™ tray where, at the push of a button, the contours of the pins are instantly transformed into a digital, true 3-D image of the plantar surface of the foot for analysis and cast correction.

With over 700 data points - pins held in position by a friction system calibrated to 1.6 psi - the reusable casting matrix system eliminates the need for foam boxes, and provides accurate “casts” of the feet for orthotic production.
